This Privacy Policy describes how Lutarea ("we", "us", or "our") handles information in connection with the mobile application Your Daily Habits (the "App") for Apple iOS and iPadOS, including home screen and Lock Screen widgets, Apple Watch companion, Live Activities, and Siri shortcuts. The App uses the bundle identifier com.lutarea.yourhabits; the widget extension uses com.lutarea.yourhabits.widgets; the Watch app uses com.lutarea.yourhabits.watchkitapp; the Watch widget extension uses com.lutarea.yourhabits.watchkitapp.widgets.

1. Summary

Your Daily Habits stores your habits, completions, streaks, and preferences on your device. The working database (SwiftData) is not synced to Lutarea servers or to Apple CloudKit. When you export a JSON backup, the App may write files to iCloud Drive → Lutarea BACKUPS (Apple's shared container iCloud.com.lutarea.backups on your Apple ID) or to a folder you choose. Lutarea does not operate its own backend that receives your habit data for advertising or resale, and we do not embed third-party advertising or analytics SDKs in the App.

2. Data we process

Depending on how you use the App, categories of information may include:

  • Habit data — titles, symbols, colors, schedules, daily targets, approaches (Atomic Habits, Tiny Habits, Implementation Intentions, Don't Break the Chain, Cue–Routine–Reward, or custom), reminders, notes on completions, skip/freeze records, streaks, achievements, and expert-program progress you create.
  • Completion history — dates, counts, and optional notes for habits you mark done, skip, or freeze.
  • Preferences — theme, in-app language, onboarding state, notification settings, app lock, privacy cover in the app switcher, HealthKit auto-sync toggle, backup folder choice, and similar options in UserDefaults / App Group storage.
  • App lock (optional) — passcode material in the device Keychain; Face ID / Touch ID handled by iOS when enabled.
  • Notifications (optional) — if you enable reminders, the App schedules local notifications on your device. Notification text is generated on device; we do not send push messages from Lutarea servers. You may mark habits done from notification actions on the Lock Screen.
  • HealthKit (optional) — if you grant permission and enable auto-sync, the App reads selected Health data (such as steps, water, or sleep) on device to suggest completing related habits. Health data is not sent to Lutarea servers.
  • Widgets, Watch, and Live Activities (optional) — limited today-progress snapshots written to App Group group.com.lutarea.yourhabits for WidgetKit, the Watch companion, and pending toggle state; WatchConnectivity may sync snapshots between iPhone and paired Apple Watch on your devices. This data is not sent to Lutarea servers.
  • User JSON backups — export writes habit data to Lutarea BACKUPS or a custom folder; import reads files you select.
  • Siri and Shortcuts (optional) — App Intents run on device to toggle habits or open views you configure.
  • Spotlight (optional) — habit titles may be indexed on device so you can open them from system search.
  • Diagnostics visible to Apple — if you opt in to share analytics with Apple, Apple may collect crash or usage diagnostics under Apple's policies.

3. Purposes and legal bases (EEA, UK, and similar)

Where the GDPR or similar laws apply, we rely on appropriate bases such as:

  • Performance of a contract / steps at your request — providing the App and features you enable.
  • Legitimate interests — securing the App and improving stability, where not overridden by your rights.
  • Consent — where required for optional permissions (HealthKit, biometrics, notifications), as managed by iOS.

4. Storage and retention

Core habit data is stored on your device with SwiftData. Widget, Watch, and Live Activity snapshots stay in the App Group on your devices. Retention is controlled by you: delete habits in the App, remove JSON backups from Files, or uninstall the App.

5. Sharing

We do not sell your personal information. Data may be processed by:

  • Apple — App Store, iCloud Drive (Lutarea BACKUPS container), WidgetKit, WatchConnectivity, App Groups, HealthKit, Face ID / Touch ID, Siri / App Intents, Live Activities, and device security.
  • Law and safety — if legally required, subject to applicable law.

6. International transfers

If you store backups in iCloud Drive, Apple may process data under their terms. Lutarea does not operate its own cross-border database for your habits.

7. Security

Protect your device, passcode, and Apple ID. Optional app lock and privacy cover help hide content on your device. JSON backups you export are your responsibility to store safely.

8. Your rights

Depending on your location, you may have rights to access, rectify, delete, restrict, port, or object to processing. Much of this can be done in the App or by managing exported files. Contact us at the email below for privacy requests.

9. Children

The App is not directed at children under the age where parental consent is required in your jurisdiction.

10. Changes

We may update this Policy; the "Last updated" date above will change. Additional notice will be provided where required by law.
