This Privacy Policy describes how Lutarea ("we", "us", or "our") handles information in connection with the mobile application Your Slovak (the "App") for Apple iOS and iPadOS. The App is associated with the bundle identifier com.lutarea.yourslovak.
1. Summary
Your Slovak is designed to store and process your data on your device. No account is required to study. We do not operate our own backend database that receives your learning progress for advertising or resale. The App does not sync your live SwiftData database through Apple CloudKit; optional backup uses iCloud Drive files you control. The App does not include third-party advertising or analytics SDKs in the current planned design.
2. Data we process
Depending on how you use the App, categories of information may include:
- Learning progress — which lessons you completed, review schedules for individual words, and study session history.
- Your own cards — words, translations, and notes you add yourself.
- App settings — theme, interface language, daily goal, onboarding state, and similar preferences stored locally.
- Optional backups — JSON files you export to Lutarea BACKUPS / Your Slovak Backups in iCloud Drive or a folder you choose.
The built-in course itself is read-only material shipped with the App. It is not personal data and is not included in your backups — only references to it are.
3. Where data stays
Primary storage is local on your device (SwiftData / app sandbox). Optional user-facing backups use the shared iCloud Drive container iCloud.com.lutarea.backups when available. We do not receive those files on Lutarea servers in the current design. Studying works fully offline.
4. Permissions
The App may request system permissions you approve (for example notifications for study reminders, or iCloud Drive access for backup). You can revoke permissions in iOS Settings.
5. Children
The App is not directed at children under 13 (or the equivalent minimum age in your region). Do not provide personal information about children through the App.
6. Changes
We may update this Privacy Policy. The "Last updated" date at the top of this page will change when we do.
