This Privacy Policy describes how Lutarea ("we", "us", or "our") handles information in connection with the mobile application Your Fishing (the "App") for Apple iOS and iPadOS. The App is associated with the bundle identifier com.lutarea.yourfishing.
1. Summary
Your Fishing is designed to store and process your data on your device. We do not operate our own backend database that receives the contents of your records for advertising or resale. The App does not sync your live database through Apple CloudKit; optional backup uses iCloud Drive files you control. The App does not include third-party advertising or analytics SDKs in the current planned design. To show weather and tides, the App sends the coordinates of a chosen spot to the services described in section 4.
2. Data we process
Depending on how you use the App, categories of information may include:
- Your records — spots (names and coordinates), sessions, catches, species, bait and photos.
- App settings — theme, language, onboarding state, and similar preferences stored locally.
- Optional backups — JSON (and related) files you export to Lutarea BACKUPS / Your Fishing Backups in iCloud Drive or a folder you choose.
3. Where data stays
Primary storage is local on your device (app sandbox). Optional user-facing backups use the shared iCloud Drive container iCloud.com.lutarea.backups when available. We do not receive those files on Lutarea servers in the current design.
4. Third-party data sources
Weather comes from Open-Meteo; tide data for US coasts comes from NOAA (public domain). Weather and tide requests go through a Lutarea server (api.lutarea.com): the App sends the coordinates of the spot you choose only to receive data for that spot, and the server does not store them or link them to you. Tides outside the US are not available yet.
Your spots and their coordinates are private: they stay on your device and are included in a backup only if you agree.
5. Permissions
The App may request system permissions you approve (for example location, camera or photo library for catch photos, notifications, or iCloud Drive access). You can revoke permissions in iOS Settings.
6. Children
The App is not directed at children under 13 (or the equivalent minimum age in your region). Do not provide personal information about children through the App beyond what you choose to keep on your own device.
7. Changes
We may update this Privacy Policy. The "Last updated" date at the top of this page will change when we do.
