This Privacy Policy describes how Lutarea ("we", "us", or "our") handles information in connection with the mobile application Your Air (the "App") for Apple iOS and iPadOS. The App is associated with the bundle identifier com.lutarea.yourair.
1. Summary
Your Air is designed to store and process your data on your device. We do not operate our own backend database that receives the contents of your records for advertising or resale. The App does not sync your live database through Apple CloudKit; optional backup uses iCloud Drive files you control. The App does not include third-party advertising or analytics SDKs in the current planned design. To show air quality and pollen, the App sends the coordinates of your saved places to the Lutarea server, which requests data from Open-Meteo (see section 4).
2. Data we process
Depending on how you use the App, categories of information may include:
- Your records — saved places, cached air quality and pollen values, symptom entries and alert rules.
- App settings — theme, language, onboarding state, and similar preferences stored locally.
- Optional backups — JSON (and related) files you export to Lutarea BACKUPS / Your Air Backups in iCloud Drive or a folder you choose.
3. Where data stays
Primary storage is local on your device (app sandbox). Optional user-facing backups use the shared iCloud Drive container iCloud.com.lutarea.backups when available. We do not receive those files on Lutarea servers in the current design.
4. Third-party data sources
Air quality and pollen data come from Open-Meteo (Air Quality API, based on the Copernicus Atmosphere Monitoring Service, CAMS). Requests go through a Lutarea server (api.lutarea.com): the App sends the coordinates of a saved place only to receive its data; the server does not store them or link them to you.
Open-Meteo data is licensed under CC BY 4.0 and is attributed in the App. Pollen forecasts cover Europe only. Symptom entries stay on your device and are never sent. Coordinates of your saved places are included in a backup only if you explicitly agree.
5. Permissions
The App may request system permissions you approve (for example location, notifications for threshold alerts, or iCloud Drive access). You can revoke permissions in iOS Settings.
6. Children
The App is not directed at children under 13 (or the equivalent minimum age in your region). Do not provide personal information about children through the App beyond what you choose to keep on your own device.
7. Changes
We may update this Privacy Policy. The "Last updated" date at the top of this page will change when we do.
